Solar installations can also help businesses demonstrate their environmental commitments. Flexible funding options are available, including:

  • Cash purchase: Full ownership with long-term energy savings.

  • Finance: Spread installation costs while reducing energy expenses.

Solutions are available to suit different business needs and budgets.

Commercial solar with no upfront cost

Go solar through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) — zero capital outlay, lower energy bills from day one.

A PPA lets your business benefit from rooftop solar without buying the system. Working with our funding partner HDM Energies, we design and install a solar PV system sized for your building at no upfront cost. HDM funds and owns the system; your business simply buys the electricity it generates at a fixed, predictable rate that is typically well below grid prices. Any power you don’t use is exported to the grid. Installation, commissioning,

monitoring and ongoing maintenance are all included. It’s an ideal route for businesses that want the savings and green credentials of solar but would rather not tie up capital — and it can improve your building’s EPC rating and value along the way.

How it works

1. We design and install for free. We survey your roof and usage and install a system suited to your site, fully funded, with no capital cost to you.

2. You buy the solar power you use at a reduced, fixed rate for the term of the agreement — giving you long-term price certainty.

3. Surplus is exported to the National Grid, so nothing is wasted.

4. We look after it. Monitoring, maintenance and insurance are included throughout the agreement.

Who it suits

Businesses with meaningful daytime electricity use and a suitable roof — offices, industrial units, warehouses and retail. If you lease your premises, the building owner’s permission is needed (the improved EPC rating and building value are a benefit to them too).

At the end of the agreement

You’re not locked in at the end: buy the system (from as little as £1 at the end of a full term), extend, renegotiate a new PPA, or have it removed. You can also buy the system at any point during the term at a set, declining price.

Frequently asked questions

Nicola Allen, Google

Stuart from Solar Tech diagnosed and fixed our complicated slower panel issues. The original installers, who were frankly, awful, had installed the panels leaving exposed wiring and multiple other issues. Stuart was meticulous, efficient and trust worthy. I would highly recommend them.
